Ross & Anglin was established in Montreal in 1934, when visionaries James Ross and Douglas Anglin laid the foundation for a company that would become a trusted name in Canadian construction. In 1967, Theodore (Ted) S. Thompson joined the firm as an estimator, bringing with him the drive and foresight that would define its next era. By 1975, he had become the majority owner, ushering in a period of transformation and guiding Ross & Anglin toward the enduring legacy the Thompson family continues to lead today.
Under Ted’s leadership, the company expanded into Eastern Ontario in the late 1970s, beginning in Cornwall and later opening offices in Toronto and Ottawa. Over time, ntario operations became fully based in Ottawa, where Ross & Anglin has contributed to major undertakings across the National Capital Region — from projects in Gatineau and along the Ottawa River to significant dam upgrades at Kennisis Lake, Red Pine Lake, and Bob’s Lake.
Throughout its history, Ross & Anglin has helped shape Canada’s industrial and built infrastructure, with a portfolio that includes Expo 67, La Cité, Maison Alcan, and the Canadian Museum of History. The company proudly serves clients such as Canadair — now known as Bombardier — along with Pratt & Whitney Canada, Parks Canada, Parmalat, Domtar, Kruger, the National Capital Commission (NCC), and Hydro Ottawa, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship, reliability, and integrity more than nine decades in the making.
